They say that when a storm has passed,
A rainbow will come through.
That even in the darkness,
A light can shine, too.
But what if the sky is gray,
And doesn‘t let in the rainbow‘s light?
What if clouds frame the darkness,
And the light loses the fight?
Everyone has sorrow and pain in their heart
Even the happiest person on Earth.
But what of when happiness doesn’t survive,
And your life is ruled by hurt?
There’s two roads in every life
A choice each person has to make
One of ecstasy and joy
And one of distress and heartache.
Cutting through the middle
Is a third path, oft-traveled as well.
The path of the undecided
Upon which the mightiest have fell.
Those stuck on this path
Hover on the brink
Their luck changes from day to day
Their tough armor erodes, link by link.
These people must make the decision
To rise or fall, rejoice or mourn
Seems easy right now,
But wait till its your turn.
Will you shine at the top?
Will you be a never was?
Will you make the right decision;
Will the decision be just?
Because when a storm has passed,
A rainbow will always shine through
Whether the sky be blue or gray
Somewhere there will be color, too.
And even when the darkness
Consumes all in sight-
The light will simply harmonize
And it will always shine.

a's poems are always depressing in the beginning, then happy at the end.

you've never seen my hope symbol?
i put it on every paper that i turn in
its very similar to the 'end/gone' symbol
i'm not really called hope, though
i'm called shadoe
