Since When Did The Price Raise Like That

     "SIX THOUSAND PINTAS!!!!!????? SINCE WHEN DID THE PRICE RAISE LIKE THAT!?"

     Kuchiha stood panting in rage, her face leaned in close to Kake's. He looked like he was starting to regret his actions.

     "It's for helping you with Akuma. The reward was 10,000, right? You got 3,333. I get the rest. See, I even gave you a little discount--666 pintas off!"

     "WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU’RE SAYING!!!!!!!!!!!????????"

     People walking by the restaurant paused to stare, then hurried on. [yeah they’re in a restaurant. Kake did the thing, and then they decided to talk about the price over food since they were both hungry.]

     "Calm down, Kuchiha. Look--you don't have to pay me outright. I'll strike a deal with you. How much do you have on you?"

     Kuchiha blushed.

     "No way I'm telling you that!!!"

     "Yes, yes, alright with me. Look--I'll let you pay off the debt by working for me."

     "WHO’D WANT TO WORK FOR YOU!!!!!!!!?????????"

     "It's pretty easy, actually. I'm a leather peddler. You can be my bodyguard from this town, Waterloo, to the next. If I'm right, it'd be Forest of Angels. Just a bodyguard. Nothing more."

     "I'M NOT A BODYGUARD!! I'm a bounty hunter!! Boun-ty-hun-ter!!! Have you ever seen a bounty hunter acting as a bodyguard!!?? Why would'you need a bodyguard, anyways!?"

     "Didn't you hear? The world's going into chaos. Because of the war taxes, people are going broke left and right. And where there's broke people, there's crimes. As a bounty hunter, I'm assuming you know that. The predator ought to understand her prey. And traveling with me isn't limited to just swinging a sword around and growling." Kuchiha growled. "I can teach you things. Have you ever heard of a nightingale?" She reluctantly shook her head. [btw, in this world, the animals are different. so nightingales are really rare.] "It's a bird. If you catch it in a silver cage, and float with it in a wooden boat under a full moon, you can heal a person's wound." [plus, they're way more awesome and magical and...well...different.] "It's works. And it's not magic. It's a natural wonder."

     Kuchiha was settling down.

     "Forest of Angels?"

     "Yup."

     "That's pretty close, isn't it?"

     "Yup."

     "In fact, I was going there myself. It's the best place for travelers, so I heard..."

     "Yup."

     "Enough with the yups! I still won't accept this! I'll only do it because our paths happen to be the same. Once we get there, I'm done with you. Got it!?"

     "Yup."

     "I said enough with the yups!!"

     But she could tell that he was happy. And somewhere deep inside, she knew that she was happy, too.

     "By the way, Kuchiha. You're paying the food bill."

     "Wha-gu-kha-you-KAKE!!!"
